Well, if you are looking for a car show to go to in Illinois, you’re won’t have to look too hard. One thing Illinois car shows definitely are not is few and far between. If you are looking for a small town car show nearby, you will find plenty no problem.

If you live within some of the bigger cities such as Chicago, you will find a number of shows within city limits. Only a few minutes drive away.

If you are looking for a huge nationwide car show that has every type of car you can think of, there is also a good selection of them to choose from. For now we are going to talk about some of the big boys that are going on in Illinois.

Chicago Auto Show

First, we have the Chicago Auto Show. For those of you that have heard of the Chicago Auto Show (Probably Everyone) you know this is about as big as it gets with almost a 1,000 car in the exhibition. The Chicago Auto Show has been going on for 103 years now and you can be sure it will continue on in the future.

If you were hoping to go to the Chicago Auto Show, you’ll have to wait a little while. It just finished up in February, but don’t worry the 2012 Chicago Auto Show is already scheduled for February 8th – 19th 2012.

Chicago World of Wheels

Our next Chicago Car Show is the Chicago World of Wheels, techniquely it’s in Rosemont, but so close it doesn’t matter. Anyways, if you are looking for a large show that is more about the classics then the Chicago Auto Show, the Chicago World of Wheels is your show. This show is filled with the classics, corvettes, RollsRoyces, Chryslers, cars of that sort.

Not just any old classics either, these are the cream of the crop. They have 1000’s of man hours invested, with flawless peralecent paint jobs. These are show cars, cars built for car shows.

Unfortunately like the Chicago Auto Show the Chicago World of Wheels has come and gone. While it does not yet have a date for next year you can be sure the 90,000 in attendence for the 2010 Chicago World of Wheels will be there again next year.

Good Guys Chicagoland Nationals

Next we have a show you can plan for this year, the Good Guys Chicagoland Nationals. It is scheduled August 12th - 14th 2011. This follows closer in suit with the Chicago World of Wheels in that it focuses in the classics.

You can look forward to over 1,500 Classic Cars, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and Trucks. Other atractions include the Good Guys Autocross and Special Track Cruises.
